Students will attend real concerts in order to master effective lighting techniques which synchronize with artists' performances, as well as to learn widely about lighting techniques from the basics to professional know-how.

Students will learn basics in producing and directing events, including establishing event concepts and drawing up product proposals. Through collaborations with other departments and industries, students will master practical knowledge in event planning.

Course Content

Concert Production Course

This practical curriculum includes classes in the professional fields, focusing particularly on advanced PC skills required for presentation and the design of advertisements and Internet homepages. Students will master skills in various production fields including stage directing, concert management, tour management, and presentation. After mastering technical terms, proper methods for equipment usage, and various related techniques, students will plan and direct small actual events.

Concert PA Course

The curriculum includes computer classes to master the use of audio software, such as Pro Tools. Students will master recording, mixing, and editing techniques, as well as live-recording techniques, equipment setting, introduction to electroacoustics, and introduction to musical instruments. After learning technical terms, proper methods for using equipment, and various techniques, students will be engaged in actual planning and directing of events.

Concert Stage Course

The curriculum includes a computer class to master the use of a full-fledged CAD software program, Vector Works, for stage designing, as well as classes for stage art, stage equipment, stage producing and directing techniques. Students will master skills required to be a stage manager. After learning technical terms, proper methods for using equipment, and various techniques, students will be engaged in actual planning and directing of events.

Concert Lighting Course

The curriculum includes a computer class to master the use of a full-fledged CAD software program, Vector Works, for designing a lighting plan. Students will master practical skills in various fields, such as general lighting, basics of stage equipment, moving lights, introduction to lightings and electricity, and practical lighting planning. After learning technical terms, proper methods for using equipment, and various techniques, students will be engaged in actual planning and directing of events.

Event Planning Course

This practical curriculum includes classes in the professional fields, focusing particularly on advanced PC skills required for presentation and the design of advertisements and Internet homepages. Students will master skills in the field of event planning including stage planning and directing, marketing, management, and presentation. After mastering technical terms, proper methods for equipment usage, and various related techniques, students will plan and direct of big actual events.

1st Year

The first-year curriculum includes music and rhythm training classes for learning basics of music, as well as event-related classes where students understand basic roles of event staff and learn and experience event planning, PR, and directing.

2nd Year

The second-year curriculum includes classes where students are engaged in actual concert production in a live house or concert hall in order to acquire wider knowledge as a concert production staff and improve practical professional skills.

HOT STUFF PROMOTION
Our school has an exclusive contract with Japan's famous concert promoter, Hot Stuff Promotion, to provide our students with opportunities to learn all about concerts and events in real environments. Our instructors include leading professionals who teach in concert production practicums and practical classes.

Our good connection with the industry allows students attend practicums in real concerts. Many practical experiences in concerts of famous domestic and international artists help students to enhance their skill.

We provide our students concert practicums in the full-fledged hall on campus and famous live houses. With a full partnership with the large-scale live houses Akasaka Blitz and Yokohama Blits, we provide our students opportunities to attend production practicums using the Blitz stages.
